Angela Hudson, Executive Director Angela joined the Society in 1999 as the Executive Director. At that time the Society was just beginning the construction of Saint Vincent de Paul Centre on Yates and a $1.7 million dollar fundraising campaign.The Society was undergoing substaintial growth and change. The members and staff rose to the challenge and since then, Saint Vincent de Paul has doubled its service delivery to those in need.'The Society has a heart in its membership that always keeps the mission and vision of the Society in the forefront. As staff we are so fortunate to be a part of this remarkable Society'.Angela grew up in the Cowichan Valley and attended the School of Chartered Accountants. Working for an accounting firm she participated in auditing Government, First Nations Bands, Non Profits and businesses before leaving to run her own business.After seven years she accepted the position of Financial Administrator for Island Catholic Schools for two years before taking on the role as Executive Director for St. Vincent de Paul. In the past, Angela has been a member of the Board for Queen of Angels school in Duncan and the Victoria Cool Aid Society. She is married to Steve, a teacher at St. Andrew's High School and has four children, two in university and twins in Grade 1 at St. Joseph's Elementary in Victoria. |

Joseph Kovacs, Program Manager St. Vincent de Paul Centre Joseph brings 18 years of combined real estate and property management experience to his position.The last thirteen years have been solely focused on property management.Joseph studied Urban Land Economics at the University of British Columbia’s, Saunders School of Business. Prior to coming to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Joseph was employed in the Real Estate field, specializing in recovery property management for rental pools facing bankruptcy.He has broad knowledge and experience in real estate law and the Residential Tenancy Act. |

Allan Cuthbertson, Program Manager for the Retail Program Allan joined the Society in 2003 as the Program Manager for Retail. Allan grew up in the Sandwich South Township outside of Tecumseh Ontario. He attended the Essex District High School in Southern Ontario until graduation in 1974.In 1974 Allan started working part-time for the K-Mart Windsor Store 5401 in the Furniture and Electronics area. In 1975 Allan worked for the Ford Motor Company in their Foundry at the Windsor location. In 1976 Allan joined the K-Mart Manager Training Program which gave a hands on approach to learning how to manage a K-Mart Store. He has worked as a Manager Trainee in Thunder Bay, Brandon, Regina Kresge, Calgary K-Mart, Edmonton K-Mart and the Kresge store in Trial. Allan was appointed Store manager of the Kresge Store in New Westminster after 5 years in the Management training program. 6 months later he was appointed Co-Manager of the K-mart store in Chilliwack. He later moved to Vancouver Island and worked to open the new K-Mart store in Langford as Co-Manager. After spending some time as the Victoria K-Mart store Co-Manager Allan was back in Langford after being promoted to the position of Store Manager. He managed that store for 10 years.After K-Mart was sold to Zellers, his career saw him assume the role of Merchandising Manager at the Zellers store on Hillside until 2003. Allan has over 35 years of retail experience in merchandising, store set ups and management.Allan is married with an adult son and daughter. |

Mel Evangelista, Financial Administrator Mel joined the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul Administration team in 2007. He has worked in different hotels in the past as an accountant.He has a degree in Accounting from the Philippines and is currently continuing his education here in Canada by taking CGA 3rd level courses.In addition to taking his CGA courses he is also completing the National payroll levels at Camosun College thru Canadian Payroll Association. He received his Payroll Compliance Certificate in 2010. |

Grant Croswell, Program Manager, Social Concern Grant attended Sacred Heart Elementary school and St. Louis College in Victoria before he obtained a BA degree in Political Science from St. Patrick’s College/Carleton University in Ottawa. Grant went on to receive a Bachelor of Theology, with Honors, from Newman Theological College in Edmonton and a Masters Degree in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of Saskatchewan. Grant was a member of the Oblate Community for over twenty years and was involved in pastoral ministry in BC and Alberta. Grant was a Chaplain Intern at the BC Penitentiary and the Matsqui Psychiatric Centre as well as working with Project 72’, Halfway houses for teens in conflict with the law in Edmonton, Alberta. Subsequent to his Catholic Ministry, Grant operated an employment agency for 10 years helping many people find work.Grant has been the Program Manager for the Social Concern Program for the Society for the past six years. In addition, as a Clinical Counselor he continues to work with individuals and families in crisis as well as working within our Catholic Diocese to offer courses for separated and divorced Catholics within the community. Grant was the President of the school Council at St. Andrew’s Elementary and a member of the National Board of Canada for Worldwide Marriage Encounter. Grant is currently the Vice Chair of St. Andrew’s High School in 2010 and President of the local chapter for the Tourettes Association of Canada. Grant has a passion for social justice and a commitment for the development of youth within the Society. He is an active member of the Society Youth Committee and the Social Concern Committee. Grant has been happily married for the past eighteen years and has a fourteen year son who attends St. Andrew’s High School. |

Ken Leason, Program Manager, Fredric Ozanam Centre Ken joined the management team of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in 2009 and assumed the responsibility of Program Manager for the Fredric Ozanam Centre with the further responsibility of maintaining CARF standards necessary for Government accreditation. He has extensive experience and training in human resource management, budgeting as well as overseeing services for individuals with special needs. Ken began his professional career as a high school teacher 30 years ago, and after accepting the position of principal of St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Victoria in 1983, attained his Masters Degree in Educational Administration in 1989 from the University of Victoria while working full time. He has also served on a number of Provincial School Inspection Teams mandated by the Ministry of Education.Ken has been a member on a number of volunteer boards as well as served his municipality as a volunteer firefighter for the last15 years. He is married with an adult son and daughter and is the proud Grandpa of two energetic grandsons. |

Grant Laprade, Property Development Manager Grant has over 40 years of business and non-profit housing experience.He is a graduate of lakehead university, majoring in economics.Now sem-retired, he also held professional designations in finance and real estate. his most prominent designation was the AACI, obtained through the Appraisal institute of Canada.The major portion of his career was spent as a real estate appraiser, property manager and developer of non-proft housing projects in Ontario.He now resides on Salt Spring Island with his wife wendy.The family includes two daughters, Karen living on Salt Spring with husband and three grand children and Kellie, living in Minneapolis wth husband and two more grandchildren. |
