Comox Valley, BC

In 1995 Christ the King Conference formed in Comox and aggregated the next year in 1996. There are 14 active members attending regular monthly meetings held on the 4th Monday of the month. There are approximately 25 associate members working and helping with the delivery of charitable services through volunteering at the soup kitchen and the Thrift Store.

The past year was very active for the Conference. The four main works of charity remain home visits, soup kitchen, food bank and the retail thrift store.

The Parishioners, using the envelope system, donate the majority of funds required to support our works. Conference members stand at the doors of the church after each mass every 3rd Sunday of the month silently begging for the poor. Funds are also received from the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Women's League and numerous corporate and private benefactors.

"Thank you very much to all our benefactors and regular donors without whose financial assistance we would be severely limited in our charitable works."

--Claude Bedard, President, Christ the King Conference
