In 1983 Holy Cross Conference formed and later aggregated in 1995. Today it has five members and welcomes the addition of three new members to replace several non-active members who have not been able to continue for a variety of reasons.
This past year has been a successful repetition of previous years in serving the families in our designated area. We have been assisted greatly by the co-operation of our parishioners and conference members. With their support we have completed approximately 140 home visits to families in need of assistance.
Home visiting continues to be our major activity, but we also give financial assistance to the Family Centre at the University of Victoria contributing to their Breakfast Club. In addition, we maintain a continuing relationship with our Twin Conference in Colombia through the efforts of two Holy Cross conference members, Ivor Williams and Gloria McLaren. Both are fluent in Spanish, which is most helpful in ensuring this successful relationship.
