Royal Oak Sorting and Dispatch
The Sorting Centre, located in Royal Oak, has been open since 1953 and has gone through some significant changes over the years. One thing, however, has not changed: hard working and dedicated employees and volunteers. With these people, the Sorting Centre is able to receive all of SSVP's generous donations and match these items with each of the 5 Retail Stores according to demand and season and deliver them for sale.

The staff at the Sorting Centre works tirelessly to manage our many donations and to avoid injury, unnecessary trash disposal costs, and inefficiencies, encourages you to read over the responsible donating section before donating any items.

Located on site is a sorting space, loading dock, clothing sewing and repair area, furniture and small appliance repair area, furniture sale room, and dispatch office.

If you are looking for larger pieces of furniture please feel free to come down and shop in our furniture storage area. Click here for location and hours.

Donation pick up and drop off

We have a small fleet of trucks that we use to pick up and deliver clothing, furniture and other household items to our 5 retail locations. In 2002 two new trucks were purchased for pick-up and delivery of donated goods and in 2008 the Society was able to purchase another new van with a donation.

Whenever possible, please drop off your donations, the scheduling for pick-ups can sometimes result in a 2-6 week wait based on demand. To arrange for donation pick up or to inquire about dropping off goods at our Sorting Centre, please call 250-727-0808.
