Support Programs

We are currently not scheduling any donation pick-ups. Donations can be dropped off at our 1010 Craigflower and 2784 Claude Road. Both locations are in need of household items and small working electronics. 

The Social Concern office will be open from 12:00 pm to 3:45 pm on Mon/Wed/Fri and from 2:00 pm to 5:45 pm on Tues/Thurs. 

Tax Preparation

Each year our dedicated team of volunteers offers free income tax preparation for the people the Society serves.

The Tax Preparation clinic runs March 4th to May 1st, Monday-Wednesday, 9:00 am to 11:00 am on a drop in basis at 833 Yates St.

Advocacy

Whether you need help applying for government services, or need assistance with personal situations, the Social Concern Office can help guide you and provide referrals to other helpful services when necessary.

Appointments are handled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please bring all relevant materials and documents to each meeting.

Women’s Programs

Every Friday

We provide a safe, supportive, and informal space for women and children to interact and build community. Coffee is served and women can meet and support one another.

Seniors Christmas Program

During Christmas, low income Seniors (60+) may receive hamper assistance from the Social Concern Office through the Christmas Bureau of Victoria BC.  More information on this program will come available in October of each year.  Contact the Social Concern office for more information Contact Us

Resource Program

At the Social Concern office in Victoria, we are welcoming community resources into our meeting room space to share information and facilitate referrals.  Please get in touch with us if you have a program to share or a resource you would like to find out more about.  Contact Us

Community Gardens

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul operates 132 units of supportive housing in total.  90 of those units are located on our 3-acre West Saanich Road site, along with our day care centre and our developmental services inclusion program.  There, we have begun a community garden program that includes individual beds, communal plots, and fruit trees and bushes.
